About PROLIA Infusion Therapy

Prolia® helps stop the development of bone-removing cells before they can reach and damage the bone. Prolia® is the first and only treatment for postmenopausal women with osteoporosis at high risk for fracture.

  • OsteoporosisA condition that causes bones to become thin and weak, making them more likely to break. Prolia can treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.
  • Bone loss in men with prostate cancerProlia can treat bone loss in men who are receiving certain medications for prostate cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • Bone loss in women with breast cancerProlia can treat bone loss in women who are receiving certain medications that increase their risk for fractures.
  • Bone loss caused by corticosteroidsProlia can treat bone loss in men and women who will be taking corticosteroid medications for at least six months.

What to Expect During PROLIA Infusion Therapy

Prolia is a prescription medication that's administered as an injection. A doctor or nurse will inject the Prolia solution under the skin in your upper arm, upper thigh, or stomach.

PROLIA Side Effects

Some common side effects include:back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, high cholesterol, bladder infection, headache, runny nose, tiredness, and upset stomach.
