EVENITY® Infusion Therapy

About EVENITY® Infusion Therapy
EVENITY® is a medicine used to treat severe osteoporosis in women after menopause. Osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weak and fragile, increasing the risk of fractures.
Condition treated by this therapy
EVENITY® (romosozumab) is a medication primarily used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fracture. Specifically:
- It's indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who:
- Have a history of osteoporotic fracture, or
- Have multiple risk factors for fracture, or
- Have failed or are intolerant to other available osteoporosis therapy
EVENITY works by increasing bone formation and, to a lesser extent, decreasing bone resorption (breakdown).
It's typically prescribed for patients with severe osteoporosis who are at very high risk of fracture.
The medication is not recommended for use in patients who have had a heart attack or stroke within the previous year, due to an increased risk of cardiovascular events.
It's important to note that EVENITY is generally used for a limited duration (usually 12 months) as part of a treatment plan for osteoporosis, often followed by other osteoporosis medications to maintain bone density gains.

EVENITY® Price
The cost of prescription medications can vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you're concerned about the price of your medication:
- Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost alternatives
- Check with the drug manufacturer about financial assistance programs
- Explore patient assistance options if you're uninsured or underinsured
Remember, many resources exist to help patients access necessary medications. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're struggling with medication costs. No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Violet Health team.
What to Expect During EVENITY® Therapy
If your provider prescribes EVENITY®, you will receive your EVENITY® treatment by 2 subcutaneous injections (via syringe), each month for 12 months.
